When we have a summit in sight, and our average hiking boot isn't cut, the Scarpa Zodiac Tech GTX Mountaineering Boot is a perfect choice. A lightweight design paired with technical capability means this boot suits everything from technical backpacking to light and fast summit attempts. The Zodiac Tech is fitted with a weatherproof Perwanger leather upper to shed off abrasion and moisture, and a GORE-TEX membrane shuts out all water so our feet stay comfortable and dry during our mountain pursuits. The SockFit XT system ensures a snug fit and has a tighter-fit collar to help keep the snow out of our boots, and the Vibram Mont rubber ensures we have a slip-free grip in various conditions. Hybrid crampon compatibility includes a heel welt for use with semi-automatic captions, and a molded heel counter keeps our heel in the boot when we are pushing hard uphill. Last but not least, the Bascula Adaptive System provides exceptional traction and support through the use of a dual-density PU midsole that allows the tread lugs to move independently to minor changes in the terrain.
