Shaving seconds off our response time, the Black Diamond Deploy Shovel is an invaluable tool in our avy kit. Once we've probe the burial site, we pull the handle from inside the blade, automatically locking it into place, and start moving snow. The T-handle gives us grip options so fatigue doesn't slow us down, and the blade cutouts let us fashion a secure emergency sled.
